With A Merry Heart

I ♥ being creative, it's fun and makes me happy - but really I just like to make a mess!

I enjoy cultivating my green thumb, and ♥ to spend more time outdoors in my garden!

I have now discovered that I ♥ to sew! I enjoy recreating pretty patterns, so if you know of some great ideas, let me know!

DIY Decorated Clipboards - I got sick of looking at the plain old Masonite clipboards, so I decided to decorate them. It’s easy, simply cut out scrapbooking paper to fit onto the clipboard. Apply a good base coat of MOD PODGE then place paper on top. Allow to dry for a couple of hours to avoid wrinkles and do a good TOP COAT of the podge to seal!

I used to work in a Stationery Shop and learnt to LOVE pretty stationery… Now I want to make my own stationery look Pretty! And my first step were to create these cute paper envelopes!

  1. Create an envelope template by using one you already have. Simply ‘cut’ open all the edges, making sure you have all the inside flaps of the envelope.
  2. Position the template (facing up) onto the area of the paper that looks best (I tried to centre the love hearts on the front of the envelope.
  3. Trace around the edges of the envelope using a ruler to keep the edges nice and straight.
  4. Cut out the template. Using a ruler and cutter keeps the edges straight, however if you have a steady hand scissors are fine!
  5. Fold along all the edges - including flaps - to get the shape of your envelope. (I placed the template inside the pretty paper once folded to make sure they were the same size)
  6. Using roll on adhesive tape made sticking the envelope together quite easy-  no fiddly cutting of sticky tape here. Put double sided tape with the peel-off backing across the inside of the top flap for sealing when the time comes.
